Greener

I know it is politically incorrect to admit it, but I am not very green.  I think about it, but I’m not great at follow through.  Julia Louis-Dreyfus was featured in a magazine story and she said that she recycles everything – including receipts.  Wow, really??

In the spirit of continuous improvement, I tried to envision what the green police would be most offended by if they dug through by garbage.  I think it would be my prolific use of paper plates.  The use of paper plates goes hand in hand with being a terrible cook.

But, before I decided to make a change I did a bit of searching to see if paper plates were worse for the environment than dish washing.  Lots of opinions out there, most saying paper plates are worse.  The response I thought best is here: http://simplewaystohelp.com/2008/06/18/paper-plates-vs-dishwasher-which-is-the-better-green-choice/ .

So I’ve decided that as I start to improve my cooking skills, I will minimize my use of paper plates.  Notice I didn’t say eliminate, I said minimize.  I need some leeway here; progress not perfection is the name of the game.
